MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - The state Agriculture Department has converted 11 vehicles to propane and will conduct a 3-year study to compare them to other department vehicles that use gasoline.
Agriculture Commissioner Ron Sparks said Monday the study will examine fuel efficiency and cost savings. He said he hopes the study will show that transportation costs can be reduced while using a cleaner fuel.
The Alabama Propane Association obtained a $65,000 grant to provide for the study.
