Happy Thanksgiving
Tomorrow, families will settle down across this great state to celebrate and give thanks for our many blessings. I want to wish all of you a safe and happy holiday. Even in our current economic turmoil, I am reminded that America remains the most prosperous nation on earth and we do indeed have much to be thankful for and proud of in Alabama and certainly within our own lives!
It has been a tough year for us all. Many people have experienced the tragedy of losing their homes, their jobs, and even their loved ones. Thousands of Alabamians still lack the affordable healthcare coverage they so desperately deserve. But, even in the midst of difficult economic times, it is comforting to know that we have elected officials and candidates for public office who care deeply about the hard working men and women of this state and in improving educational opportunities for our children.
Of course we will have our differences, but at the core of the matter exists the belief that we are here, all of us together, to bring about a brighter future for our state.
In the spirit of thanks giving, I want to personally extend holiday greetings to Congressman Artur Davis and his lovely wife Tara.
I also want to take a minute to express my sincere appreciation to all of you for the sacrifices you’ve made and the investment of your time, energy, resources, and commitment to my vision for a better, stronger Alabama. Happy Thanksgiving!
Together, we can and will build a better future.
